A Bright Solution

My lighting projects range from custom decoration in vehicles, to decorative lighting in my home, to odd and unusual flashlights, and everything in between. Over the years, I have incorporated custom LED lighting into just about everything I own. I have also created some rather unusual LED lighting designs for a few close friends, such as the skateboard shown below. Here are a few examples of completed projects that I have made over the years in my spare time.

Loud Noises

In addition to LED lighting, I have created a number of custom audio circuits over the past several years. Shown here are multiple iterations of the main audio board for a distortion pedal that I designed, as well as various configurations for the pedal itself. The end product was given away as a gift to be used by a local musician.

Motors!

Recently, I took an extensive interest in electromagnetism and electric motor design. This led me to acquire a tool set which allows me to fabricate my own electric motor parts in the 540-550 size range. To date, I have produced over 10 different designs for specific applications. My current skill set and tooling allows me to produce 3-pole and 5-pole brushed motors in every wind pattern possible. Shown here are examples of a few 3-pole motor rotors of varying design, as well as a purpose-built commutator truing lathe in action.

Metal fabrication

In addition to my electrical ventures, I have pursued mechanical ventures for several years now. My tooling makes larger projects (especially those involving heavy machining) difficult. However, simpler projects using some ready-made parts have been wildly successful. Shown here is a chassis component for a high-end radio-controlled vehicle. This was actually a manufacturing request from a friend, which allowed me to go in-depth on the design without time constraints. The final product takes around 4 hours to manufacture, however the R&D took several months to complete. Shown here are photos of the finished product. This was also a unique project because I created full hand-drawn technical drafts for all of the parts. I have included a section of one of these drafts. However, the complete draft is not provided to protect intellectual property.
