Previous Work Experience
My professional career started with a 10 year part-time landscaping job for for Zion Pizza and Noodle Company in Springdale, Utah. As I became more competent as a private landscaper, I expanded my client base to include The Novel House Inn at Zion around the age of 15. At the age of 16, I took a part-time job as a lot tech/apprentice mechanic for Bob's Enterprises Used Car Sales and Repair, and was promoted multiple times before I left one year later. In addition to Zion Pizza and Noodle Company, I currently work for the Old Church LLC in Springdale Utah as the manager of building maintenance, water system maintenance, HVAC maintenance, landscaping, and janitorial duties. This entity houses 6 businesses and two apartments on one and a half acres of property near the entrance to Zion National Park. The complex sees over one million visitors annually.

In addition to my landscaping and maintenance experience, I worked as a sales associate for Hurricane Hobbies (a local hobby shop) for several years. I was always a technical hobbyist, even from a very young age, and as soon as I was able to work in the business, the owner hired me on as a part-time consultant, sales associate, and repair technician. I learned a lot about customer service and sales during that time, and stayed on until the business closed in 2015. It was a great learning experience, and an all-around fun adventure.

Last but not least, I have owned and operated a sole proprietorship that designs, builds, and installs custom LED lighting since 2017. This venture has been, without a doubt, my most difficult business venture to date. The business requires a considerable and unique skill set in cost estimation and sourcing, which has been an extremely challenging and rewarding subject to say the least. I have learned a massive amount about business management and communication, as well as a multitude of hard technical skills that go along with the work. Because the business focuses exclusively on custom designs (that is, no available ready-made solutions), each project comes with its own unique set of challenges. This has been a very fun venture, and I learn a new skill from virtually every project. To date, I am still operating this business, and have created three completely unique DC power systems that are not readily available from lighting manufacturers. This has been, and will continue to be, one of the most exciting and educational ventures of my working career.
